Volunteer Services

The Volunteer Committee works with area schools and organizations in the Greater Hartford region to help them raise funds and supplies for their organizations. We help with collections for school supplies, books, coats, hats and mittens for the less fortunate. We also help with supplying volunteers for the many walkathons held in and around Hartford throughout the year. We help form teams for these same events. You will see us at the Hartford Marathon, collecting toys at Christmas, selling flowers in the spring, giving of our time and muscle at Habitat for Humanity, Day of Caring and Rebuilding Together.

2020 SALVATION ARMY ANGEL TREE

This year we are once again offering the Salvation Army Angel Tree. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, we are offering a virtual support option this year in lieu of physical angel tree tags.

You can copy and paste the link and follow the prompt for Angel Tree. Click the button and you will see the registry for the Hartford location.. It will open up to a Walmart shopping page...yes, it's the right link!

All gifts purchased through the registry will be shipped directly to the location and used to provide Holiday Toys for the children in the Greater
Hartford Area. https://easternusa.salvationarmy.org/southern-new-england/hartford/.

George Elliston said, “How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it!”   Christmas will be beautiful for many children thanks to your generosity.

VETERAN'S SUPPORT NEED FOR ROCKY HILL CAMPUS

The residents and members of the health care center are currently in isolation and unable to leave the campus and, in some instances, leave their rooms.   The Community Relations department has reached out for donations of coffee pods, packaged snacks, puzzle books, magazines, Trac Phones and tablets. They also will accept gently used tablets.

If you would be interested in having your children make pictures or notes for the veterans, that would also uplift their spirits.

If you are interested in participating, donations can be mailed/shipped to : Jennifer Shea, 126 Book Hill Road, Deep River, CT 06417.   Items will be disinfected, wiped down and prepared for delivery to the campus to avoid contamination.
