Cost is FREE!

Please note that the class is limited to 12 members

It’s Valentine’s Day and what better way to pre-celebrate with your loved one than a wine tasting with sweets. We will be tasting three wonderful Port wines that pair beautifully with chocolate and with a very special Brown Butter Walnut Brownie (I’ll send the recipe).

Port is one of the world’s best wines. There are many styles and we will taste three of them on February 11. You are welcome to taste along with one, two or all three wines. They are more expensive than other wines we’ve tasted but well worth the splurge for a special day. We will also learn about Port. What is it? How are the wines made? What makes them special? How to pair them with food (or just enjoy them as dessert).

Recommended wines and estimated prices

  • Dona Antonia Tawny  $22.00
  • Fonseca LBV 2015   $24.00
  • Dow's Vintage 2016  375ml $60.00 – a half bottle is an excellent way of trying a Vintage Port and this is one of the best, garnering 98 points by both Wine Spectator and Decanter.
